B&R’s New Backbone Bus Enhances X20 System Performance

B&R now offers the X2X+ backbone bus option, which boosts the performance of the X20 system by up to four times. Since all existing X20 I/O modules are fully compatible with X2X+, building more powerful machines requires only the addition of bus modules. This allows for easy and cost-effective upgrades to enhance machine capabilities without replacing existing hardware.

The advantages of the new X2X+ backbone bus are particularly evident in applications involving numerous I/O modules or large amounts of data where short processing cycles are required. It even allows for setting up two separate cycles, enabling less time-critical data to be transmitted at slower intervals, reducing the load on the network and processor. This ensures that high-speed, complex processes can be reliably controlled using cost-effective standard hardware.

High Sampling Rate

X2X+ enables faster data transmission and response times up to four times faster. With this increased bandwidth, the system can handle larger volumes of data and achieve higher sampling rates. This is particularly advantageous in applications like vibration measurement, providing more accurate condition monitoring across the entire system.
